Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented individual to serve as an Office Administrative Assistant Intern. This internship is ideal for students interested in nonprofit operations, administration, and office management. Interns will gain hands-on experience supporting day-to-day office functions in a mission-driven environment while contributing to the success of housing and community development programs.

The intern will work closely with the Director of Operations and administrative team to assist with office operations, donation and volunteer data entry, event prep, and organizational tasks. The position requires a commitment of 10-15 hours per week over a 15-week semester, totaling 150 hours for 3 academic credits.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with general office support tasks including filing, scanning, organizing supplies, and responding to basic inquiries
  • Enter and maintain accurate data for volunteer hours and donations in our system
  • Help prepare materials and packets for events and meetings
  • Support event logistics, including packing supplies and assisting with on-site setup
  • Assist with scheduling, outreach emails, and internal coordination
  • Maintain an organized and professional workspace, assisting with day-to-day upkeep
  • Occasionally assist at community events and volunteer days, including greeting guests and helping with sign-in
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in nonprofit administration, business operations, or office management
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow administrative protocols
    Reliable transportation to the Habitat Newburgh office
  • Currently enrolled in a relevant academic program such as Business Administration, Management, or Public Administration, etc,.
